What is a 3PL provider (third-party logistics)?
Third-party logistics providers manage inbound/outbound transportation and warehousing for their clients. 3PL companies either own or lease their warehouse space but typically do not own their own fleet of trucks and instead contract with other carriers for freight and shipping. Third-party refers to the fact that your business is outsourcing your order fulfillment process. You don’t have to own or manage a warehouse.
